India--Children & photography. Issues of interference v. trying to help. We discussed this one quite a bit in our grad program. Did we solve or resolve anything? Uh, it was grad school.
I'll have to disagree with the 3 star rating here. I'll give it 2... maybe 2.5. This film starts interestingly enough, and though possibly well intentioned, really ends up falling into old colonialist, save the brown children, missionary film-making. Interesting take, juanito. I recall how much distaste you had for this film back in school. I definitely found more to like in it than you did. That may be my colonialist mentality coming thru...then again, I didn't recommend it! Now, how do you feel about Repo Man?
