This film gets a lot of hype. The use of widescreen/cinemascope and color are very impressive, and of course Lee Marvin is great, but I thought the social messaging was disappointing.
This is one of those weird 1970s dramas, with Lee Marvin and Gene Hackman. There are some fascinating scenes here, but overall this movie is kind of flat.
I'm not sure why this one is so highly regarded. A very simple film, looks like a very low budget (neither of which is a bad thing) but overall not a super-compelling drama. Ain't much there there. Gotta love Lee Marvin, though. Always.
